I started this publication because I was shocked at how little I knew about our nation’s history and the numerous contributions made by Black Americans­.

As a debut author delving into the world of historical nonfiction, I’ve realized how woefully uninformed I was, and how little I’d been taught. Perhaps, you feel the same way. If so, I invite you to free your mind with me.

BIOS & BACKSTORIES is a celebration of Black culture—the hidden figures and little-known history that have long shaped America. And speaking of hidden figures, I’ll share occasional tidbits regarding THE WEATHER OFFICER, my debut book that tells the epic story of one of America’s first Black meteorologists (released January 2025).

The only way we can fight back against book bans and the assault on history is to embrace all of our stories and ensure they don’t become lost with time.
